Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron tower that stands 1,063 ft tall. It was designed for the Exposition Universelle, a world fair held in Paris in 1889. It is presently most popular symbol of Paris.

Two senior engineers working for the engineer and architect Gustave Eiffel designed the Tower, which was then verified by Eiffel and proposed as the centerpiece of the planet fair held in France capital, the Exposition Universeller in 1889. Once verified, 250 builders were hired to build the monument.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Build between 1163 and 1245 on the lle de La Cite, Notre Dame de Paris is one of the oldest gothic cathedral in the planet. The name of the cathedral in English means our lady, and it is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin.

The Pantheon

The Pantheon was the primary big monument in Paris. It was built before the Arc de Trimphe and the Eiffel Tower, and was the primary building that offered a wonderful view over France capital. It is palced in the Latin Quarter, extremely near to the Jardin du Luxembourg.

Placed in the sixth Arrondissement, jardin du Luxembourg is one of the most popular parks in Paris.

Spread across 57 acres in the center of the city, it was constructed in 1612 as part of a new residence for Marie de Medici, the window of King Henry IV, and has evolved to become a remarkable place to spend a hot afternoon in the city.

Placed between the popular Louvre museum and Place de la Concorde, in the first Arrondissement is Jardind es Tuileries, the primary public park in Paris.

It was created as part of the Tuileries Palace by Catherine de Medici in 1564, opened to public in 1667, and became the primary park open to the public post the infamous French Revolution.

Best time to visit Paris?

The excellent time to visit Paris is from April to June and October to early November when the weather is enjoyable and mild and the visitor crowds are smaller than in summer.

The affordable time to visit Paris is early December, January, and February but be prepared for the extreme winter.

Transportation

Though the metro is the most famous means for domestic transport, it does not cover all routes. For these journeys, the bus is a best option. For sightseeing, there is the Paris L’Opentour Bus which is an open, double-decker bus where visitors are provided with headsets providing them an audio tour of the sights of the city.

RER is a commuter train leading to the suburbs of Paris and France. The RER also serves as a remarkable subway within Paris and saves a lot of travel time. The river cruise is a best way to see the city. Boats leave every half hour and with a day ticket or a three day ticket, you can hop off and on whenever you want.
