Ada Foah is a town on the southeast coast of Ghana, where the Volta River meets the Atlantic Ocean. It’s known for palm-lined beaches and estuary islands. Marine turtles breed in the area. On the seafront are traces of Fort Kongenstein, built by 18th-century Danish traders. Next to the old Presbyterian Church is a 19th-century missionary cemetery. Songor Lagoon is a wetland area with numerous bird species.
The driver will meet you at your hotel, meeting point or residence in the morning and embark on a panoramic journey today to Ada Foah, a little piece of paradise on the coast of Ghana.
Arrive at the venue and undertake some of the following activities based on preference:
Canoeing, jet skiing or a range of water sports or simply relax at beach and enjoy the view.
Alternatively, take a canoe to Crocodile Island, which is an island in the mouth of the Volta River. Here you will be able to check out the basket weaving industry, and there are always great opportunities for bird watching on the island. The people of the island are also said to be prime palm wine distillers; there is an opportunity to witness the process and taste some of the product, if you want to Spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach; if you are lucky you can witness sea turtles nesting on the beach.
Also visit the Ramsar Lagoon, which is about a 15-minute drive from the beach.
Return to Accra by sunset to end your trip.
